Welcome, and thank you for your interest in NUHS Surgery-In-General Residency Program.
Surgery-In-General is the two-year residency program that provides basic surgical training to residents in the subspecialties of plastic surgery, hand surgery, neurosurgery, urology and cardiothoracic surgery. Residents are exposed to a broad range of clinical opportunities during their rotations in NUHS.
The strength of our program lies in the outstanding clinical and research experience complemented by committed teaching faculty and supportive administration. We as faculty are acutely aware and concerned about each resident. We get to know you personally as well as professionally. It is our aim to help each of you achieve your goals and be as good as you can possibly be.
The USC and NUHS are looking at the future with excitement. We are expanding our clinical and research activities in many important areas. The hospital has broken ground on a new building which will house the new clinic space and operating suites. The new MD 11 is completed and will provide ample opportunities for bench and translational research.
I invite you to find out more about our program on the pages of this website or by directly contacting myself or the program coordinator. For those who are unsure of your career choices, please feel free to contact us to arrange for counseling or shadowing opportunities.
Best wishes in your search, and I am looking forward to meeting you.
