Dr Goh Kee Tai is Senior Consultant, Office of the Director of Medical Services, Ministry of Health (MOH). He is also Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Environmental Epidemiology, MOH.
Dr Goh has been involved in epidemiological surveillance and research as well as in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of communicable disease prevention and control programmes in Singapore since 1975. He was head of the Quarantine and Epidemiology Dept, Ministry of the Environment (ENV), until the epidemiological function of the Environment Ministry was merged with that in MOH in April 2003. Dr Goh also set up the Institute of Environmental Epidemiology in ENV in 1992 to undertake epidemiological surveillance and research on environment-related health problems in Singapore. He has participated as WHO short-term consultant and temporary advisor in various regional and international projects and expert group meetings.
Dr Goh is the author of 2 monographs on infectious diseases published by the Southeast Asian Medical Information Center, Tokyo, and editor/co-editor of 14 monographs published by the WHO Collaborating Centre for Environmental Epidemiology, Singapore, and other collaborating institutions. He has authored and co-authored more than 200 scientific papers published in local, regional and international medical journals on communicable diseases and environment-related health topics. He has been editing the ‘Epidemiological News Bulletin’ since 1975.
Dr Goh was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 1977, the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 1983 and the Public Service Medal in 2007
