Ng Siok Bian graduated in 1995 with MBBS from National University of Singapore (NUS) and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2002. She subsequently completed her HMDP specialty training in haematolymphoid pathology in 2003 as a visiting Fellow in the Laboratory of Pathology, National Cancer Institute/National Institute of Health, Bethesda, USA.
Siok Bian was a consultant pathologist in Singapore General Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital before she joined NUS in 2007 as an Assistant Professor. Her diagnostic expertise is in haematolymphoid pathology and molecular diagnostics. She is part of a team of pathologists trained in molecular pathology and working with A/Prof Manuel Salto-Tellez in the Diagnostic Molecular Oncology Centre at the department of pathology, NUS.
Siok Bian is member of the international editorial board of the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine journal, and a member of the College of American Pathologists abstract review committee for CAP meetings. She is an invited faculty for courses and conferences in haematolymphoid pathology. Her research interests include all types of lymphomas, especially EBV-associated lymphomas and lymphoproliferative diseases. She also collaborates with researchers and clinicians at NUH/NUS and other hospitals on studies involving leukemias and multiple myeloma.
