OVERVIEW
The mission of the NUHS
Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Training Program is to provide our residents with
the knowledge and skills, both clinical and surgical, in all areas of
orthopaedic surgery necessary to produce orthopaedic surgeons who are technically competent, able
to provide care of the
highest quality to all orthopaedic patients presenting to the National
University Health System, and knowledgeable of the literature in the field of orthopaedic surgery by the completion
of the Training Program.
The goal of the Program is to
produce orthopaedic surgeons who are not only technically competent but
compassionate, knowledgeable of the literature in the field of orthopaedic
surgery, demonstrating the highest ethical standards, keen to seek clinical
& basic science solutions in the interest of providing the highest quality
holistic care to their patients and striving to become leaders in the field.
This mission & goal will be accomplished via a
rigorous and comprehensive Program which will ensure a more than adequate
clinical exposure, the opportunity to perform surgical procedures under the
supervision & guidance of master orthopaedic surgeons as well as an opportunity
to pursue scholarly activities in research and make contributions to the field
of orthopaedic knowledge.
