Dr Danny Lim graduated from the medical school at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1998. He began his anaesthesia training in Singapore in 2000, obtained the Masters of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) in 2005 from NUS and completed his advanced specialty training in anaesthesia at the National University Hospital in 2007.
With his subspecialty interest in Critical Care Medicine, he went on to obtain the Diploma in Intensive Care from the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine in 2007.
In 2008, Dr Lim was awarded the Human Manpower Development Program scholarship for Critical Care Medicine (CCM). He was appointed as Clinical Fellow in Critical Care Services at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA from 2008 to 2009 and successfully completed the 12-month CCM fellowship programme offered by the Mayo School of Graduate Medicine.
Dr Lim spends about 25% of his clinical time on critical care medicine; the remainder, on anaesthesia and medical undergraduate and post-graduate education. Outside NUHS, Dr Lim is an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support with the SGH Institute for Medical Simulation and Education.
