Dr Addy Tan is a consultant anaesthesiologist in NUH. He graduated from medical school at the National University of Singapore in 1997. He obtained the Masters of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) in 2005 and completed his anaesthesia training in NUH. He proceeded to be subspecialised in Intensive Care Medicine and was awarded the Human Manpower Development Program scholarship by Ministry of Health. He successfully completed the Critical Care Fellowship program with the Inter-department of Critical Care Medicine, University of Toronto in 2008. He was also awarded the Diploma in Intensive Care by the Europoean Society of Intensive Care Medicine in 2008. His clinical interest in intensive care medicine includes advance ventilatory support techniques and renal replacement therapy. He spends about 25% of his clinical practice working fulltime in the Intensive Care Unit.
He was appointed as Assistant Professor by Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2008. Not only is he actively involved with undergraduate and postgraduate education, he has also keen interest in nursing education, being a clinical preceptor with the advanced practitioner nurse / Masters of Nursing program.
