Fellowship in Paediatric Otolaryngology Head Neck Surgery
The Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Department at the National University Hospital, Singapore has an immediate opening for a 12 to 18 month Clinical Fellowship position for an Otolaryngologist specialist who is looking to sub-specialise further in Paediatric ENT. The applicant should preferably have completed at least 1 year of general ENT as a specialist. The fellow's direct supervisor and mentor will be Dr Lynne Lim HY, an Associate Professor and Senior Consultant at the National University Singapore and National University Hospital. Dr Lim's Paediatric ENT fellowship was undertaken at Cincinnati Children Medical Centre, USA, between 2001-2003.
The training program in Paediatric Otolaryngology Head Neck Surgery at National University Hospital (NUH) provides specialty training for Fellows with prior training in ENT. The ENT Clinics at KRW and F clinic serves as the focal point for delivering and teaching advanced paediatric ENT care. The ENT Clinics are further supported by a team of paediatric audiologists, paediatric speech language pathologist and allergy nurses. The full spectrum of paediatric work ranging from general paediatric ENT to specialized hearing and language, allergy and rhinology, and airway and craniofacial diseases is available, working together with multidisciplinary paediatric specialists in NUH. Besides clinical work, the trainee will further be mentored to actively pursue research and teaching.
The trainee will have a structured training module with core curriculum lectures for paediatric ENT, and direct supervision for patient care in the clinics and operating theatres. If the trainee passes the probation after 4 months, the trainee will be given the opportunity to run his/ her own clinic sessions and perform hands-on surgery.
