Clinician-Scientist
The Memory Aging & Cognition Centre (MACC) is a Research Center within the National University Health System funded by the Singapore National Medical Research Council that focuses on the study of dementia and cognitive impairment in the elderly. The MACC currently has 4 research themes on biomarker discovery, neuroimaging, clinical assessment and epidemiology. There is an opportunity for a qualified candidate with interests in dementia-related research to join the MACC in a Clinician-Scientist role.
The candidate must possess a Basic Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, MD/PhD) that can be registered with the Singapore Medical Council and recognized postgraduate qualifications in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry or Geriatrics. The candidate must possess excellent clinical skills and a demonstrated record in research accomplishments in any aspect of dementia or cognitive impairment. Candidates with expertise in imaging, metabolic diseases, and clinical trials are encouraged to apply. Successful candidate will be expected to take on leadership role to lead various clinical research projects within MACC as well as to undertake independent research.
Singapore is embarking on a major initiative to develop and support translational biomedical research. Ample funding is available to support experienced clinician-scientists. All academic levels are considered, up to full academic posts at the National University of Singapore School of Medicine. Remuneration will be competitive and commensurate with qualification and experience.
