- Clinical
Fellowship Position in Paediatric Cardiology
The Department of
Paediatrics is offering a clinical fellowship position in the Division of
Paediatric Cardiology.
This is a one-year
training position specially tailored for physicians (local or overseas) who are
keen to pursue basic to intermediate level subspecialty work in Paediatric
Cardiology.
As a division with heavy
outpatient and cardio-surgical workloads, this fellowship position provides
optimum training opportunities in the management of structural and critical
heart diseases of childhood. Specifically, fellows can expect to learn the
foundations of:
1)
Paediatric Echocardiography,
Trans-thoracic, Fetal and Trans-esophageal
2)
Other non invasive cardiac imaging; CT
and MRI
3)
Paediatric Electrophysiology and
Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing
4)
Critical Care Cardiology including
management of Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS)
Fellows will be
integrated into all activities of the division and will be expected to
undertake supervised clinical responsibility for all patients under the
division's care. The fellow will also be expected to contribute to resident
training.
A monthly allowance
will be given and there will be opportunities for research and extra funding if
fellows are found suitable.
Interest fellows must
posses a basic Medical Degree and/or higher qualification in the field of
Paediatrics. Preference would be given for candidates with basic paediatric
cardiology experience, particularly in echocardiography.
