About National University Hospital


National University Hospital (NUH) is a 997-bed complement, acute-care, tertiary hospital. Started on 24 June 1985 as the first government-owned restructured hospital, it focuses on patient care, research, and education. NUH strives to provide personalised, cost-effective, specialised patient care within an environment of intensive research and excellent medical education.


NUH supports clinical teaching for undergraduate medical students and serves as a clinical and research base for the medical and dental faculties of the National University of Singapore. It also provides postgraduate training for specialist doctors.
