The Children's Emergency (CE) Unit of University Children's Medical Institute, National University Hospital in Singapore seeks a full-time paediatrician trained in paediatric emergency care. The CE provides services 24-hours round the clock for approximately 20,000 attendances per year of patients in the paediatric age group from neonates to adolescents. There is also a 5-bed observation facility for children whose conditions can be managed in the CE, followed by monitoring for a few hours before discharge if well.
Interested candidates must posses a basic Medical Degree that can be registered with Singapore Medical Council; and recognised paediatric post-graduate qualifications such as MMed, MRCP, MRCPCH or its equivalent. Candidates who are fellowship-trained in paediatric emergency or paediatric critical care are preferred. This position offers competitive income based on training and expertise. The candidate will be expected to supervise junior on-call staff, and be involved actively in teaching undergraduate medical students as well.
