Specialist Track
Specialist Track is designed for doctors who wish to be trained as specialists.

Resident Physician Track
Resident Physician Track is designed for doctors who do not aspire to be specialists, but prefer to remain working in a hospital setting,
after completion of their Medical Officer bond (applicable for local graduates from National University of Singapore NUS) and after
attaining a minimum of 5 years experience as Medical Officer (post-housemanship).

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
House Officer
House Officer Training is a compulsory part of medical training for all fresh medical graduates who have completed their basic medical degree.
It is a period of clinical apprenticeship that will equip the new medical graduate with the basic skills of clinical practice. House Officer Training
will last for 1 year and the House Officer will need to perform 3 postings, with each posting lasting 4 months.
Fresh medical graduates who want to apply for the House Officer position must meet the following requirement:
- a MBBS degree from the National University of Singapore or a basic medical degree awarded by an overseas medical school listed
in the Schedule of the Medical Registration Act (MRA) of Singapore.
Medical Officer
Medical Officers are qualified doctors who are immediately responsible for the total management of patients in the wards. They are required to
help House Officers in the clerking of cases and supervise/help them in the performance of procedures.
As a Medical Officer at MOHH, you can choose your own postings to match your developmental needs and career interests during the two
6-monthly rotations in a year through the MOHH Preference-Driven Medical Officer Posting Exercise (MOPEX).
Medical Officers who wish to be trained as specialists may apply to the Joint Committee for Specialist Training (JCST) in one of the 14 basic
specialties or the Joint Committee of Family Medicine for training in Family Medicine.
Candidates applying for the Medical Officer position must meet the following requirements:
- a MBBS degree from the National University of Singapore or graduated from the Universities/Medical Schools listed under the Medical
Registration Act (MRS).
- must have completed houseman training satisfactorily.
- must be granted medical registration by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC).
- must be granted an Employment Pass to work in Singapore (applies only to non-Singaporean / non-Singaporean PR).
Registrar
As a Registrar, you guide the medical team, including House Officers and Medical Officers and provide expert medical care to patients.
NUHS is accredited for Advanced Specialty Training in all 35 advanced specialties under the purview of the Joint Committee of Specialist Training.
To qualify for the Registrar position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- must possess a postgraduate medical registration that is recognized by JCST for entry into Advanced Specialist Training.
- must be granted medical registration by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC).
- must be granted an Employment Pass to work in Singapore (applies only to non-Singaporean / non-Singaporean PR).
- must possess the relevant years of experience.
Associate Consultant / Consultant / Senior Consultant
As an Associate Consultant / Consultant, you would have completed your Basic and Advanced Specialist Training and with successful
accreditation by the Specialist Accreditation Board and entry into the Singapore Specialist Register, you will be looked upon to lead and
guide medical staff at all levels, including teaching and training.
To qualify for the Associates Consultant / Consultant position, applications must meet the following requirements:
- must be accredited as a Specialist Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health
- must be granted medical registration by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC).
- must be granted an employment pass to work in Singapore (applicable to non-Singapore / non- Singapore PR)
- must possess the relevant years of experience.
Resident Physician
As a Resident Physician, you will provide first-line clinical coverage in medical departments within NUHS. Applicants must meet the following
requirements in order to qualify:
- Full/Conditional medical registration by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC).
- at least 5 years of Medical Officer experience.
- an employment Pass to work in Singapore (applicable to non-Singapore / non- Singapore PR).
