Transplant Co-ordinator (Kidney& Liver)

The Challenges


You will co-ordinate the retrieval and transplantation of organs from deceased donors to support the various transplant programs including counselling family members of potential organ donors. You will be responsible for developing programs to encourage full rehabilitation of post-transplant patients and their follow-up care. You will also be a liaison person between the patients and doctors concerning their medical problems so as to provide more effective patient care. You will also co-ordinate the evaluation of live donors and subsequent live donation and transplantation. Other responsibilities include developing protocols to ensure all end stage liver failure patients are assessed and placed on the transplant waiting list; and conducting ongoing educational programmes for patients on the transplant register to prepare them for transplant.


The Requirements


  • Degree in Nursing, Life Sciences, Psychology, Social Work
  • Computer proficiency is essential
  • Mature and pleasant personality with drive and initiative to excel
  • Able to work well independently under pressure
  • Working experience with kidney or liver patients would be advantageous
