Heartbeat of our Staff (3)

Hairul Nizar Bin Sanep
Customer Support Associate

I enjoy interacting with people. I greet them, helping them in any possible way and provide great customer service. I also ensure security, and I am trained in fire safety. I am proud of what I do because I am helping others!

Isaac Sia
Principal Speech Therapist

I lead a team of speech therapists who help patients with communication and swallowing problems. The contributions of NUH to research and clinical education are important towards building an excellent and viable healthcare system for the future, and I am glad to be part of the team!

Jesslyn Ng
Nurse Manager

Nursing has been and will always be my passion especially those with cardiac concerns.Although my previous intent was to be a nurse clinician, I was approached to manage the ward instead.  This has been a challenging and yet a new learning experience for me in management.  This challenging role has geared me to manage people and ensure smooth running of the ward.  It gives me a broader perspective and great satisfaction that allows me to manage, mentor, guide, educate and yet maintain my bedside clinical skills.

Joyce Mathew
Principal Embryologist

Embryologists perform various state of the art procedures involving the handling of oocytes (eggs) and embryos in the laboratory to facilitate conception. Together with a team of doctors and nurses, the embryologists are able to provide hope for infertile couples. A strong functioning team is probably the greatest key to success and I am proud to be part of this team at NUHS that is committed to improving fertility through assisted reproductive technology.

Karinne Guo
Assistant Manager, Service Culture Unit

I enjoy working with wonderful colleagues from various departments to drive service culture in NUH.  Here, we aim to make a difference to every patient experience.  I love how my job allows me to develop our staff to bring a smile to our patients’ faces.

Associate Professor Kelvin Foong

Senior Consultant (University Dental Cluster)

By integrating techniques from engineering, mathematics and computer science, we can build a 3D model of a patient's facial and oral tissues to aid dental clinicians in decision-making, learning and treatment. Patients will be able to make better and informed choices through treatment discussions using these highly visual models. This is a tangible example of how the partnership of engineering sciences and clinical care enhances the clinician-patient relationship.

Lisa Ang

Manager, Corporate Communications

Our doctors save lives, and I have the privilege of spreading that message of help through the media. It gives me an immense satisfaction when patients contact us after hearing about NUH in the media. In my little way I am happy that I can reach out to 'save' someone's life!

Dr Malcolm Mahadevan

Senior Consultant (Emergency)

Every case that comes into the Emergency Medicine Department is different and each one presents a fresh challenge. We work as a team to treat and care for our patients. It certainly keeps us on our toes as we do our best for them.
