“First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the benefactors of the bursary for providing this bursary. The bursary has gone a long way in helping myself and lessened the burden upon my family, especially in the future as the bursary has helped to cover the Tuition Fee Loan partly. The bursary has also served as an added motivation for me to do well in the examinations so as not to disappoint those who have provided me with such an opportunity.
As countless surveys have shown, there are a great proportion of medical students in need of financial assistance in order to cover the ever increasing fees of the medical course. This is especially so in this trying times, where the economy is at its most unpredictable. I come from a family of four; my dad’s earning as a taxi driver are barely enough to cover the living expenses of the family, my mum is a housewife and my younger sister who will be entering Medical school this year. Therefore, for us, a family whose income is modest, such a bursary proves to be of great relief and a godsend.
This bursary has definitely reduced the burden on the family. Without the bursary, even with the Tuition Fee Loan, I would still have to pay about $1000 in school fees per semester. This us as a family and we spent a long time calculating and planning ways and means to pay the school fees. However, with your generous contribution, no longer does our family have to be distracted by the school fees, and for myself, I could solely concentrate on my studies rather than worry about being unable to pay them.
Hence, the bursary has gone a long way in helping me and my family cope with the financial burdens of medical school.
On a final note, I would like to express once more my gratitude to the benefactors of the bursary. Words cannot express my gratitude for this bursary.”
Yours sincerely,
