NUH PCF Programmes |
The NUH Patientcare Charity Fund has about 60 programmes covering various medical areas and needs. It strives to be as comprehensive as possible in extending help to patients in financial hardship.
Some of our Programmes that benefit financially disadvantaged patients include:
Needy Surgery Patients Programme aims to help needy surgery patients who will benefit from ‘cutting-edge' or complex surgery.
Step-down Care Programme helps patients, particularly the elderly and the chronically ill, who need caregivers to nurse them after they have been discharged from hospital. The programme helps patients with their medical expenses at step-down care facilities.
Kids' Heart Fund saves children with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). It subsidises surgery costs and other treatment fees (if need be).
"BMT 4 Kids" helps children with genetic or blood disorder like leukaemia. It funds the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) for needy children.
NUH VIVA Children Cancer Programme aims to save children with cancer through research and the establishment of a Children Cancer Centre in NUH to better treat these young patients.
Children's Aid Programme (CAP) helps children who need expensive drugs (unsubsidised) for ailments like kidney problems and blood diseases, etc. It also supports them with the purchase of equipments like wheelchair, and breathing equipments etc.
"The Will To Live" Programme helps patients with chronic conditions (lupus, heart problem and diabetes, etc.). This provides patients with the financial and emotional support required to take them through their illnesses - often a difficult time for both the patients and their families.
"I CAN" Programme helps children with Asthma and Allergies. With proper treatment, patients can go on to lead fulfilling lives. Patients' family members are better informed through the programme on ways to help their children cope and live ‘normal' lives.
